Restoration of a wooden statue
This is a restoration of a wooden statue dated 1786. It
represents Saint Vito. This work was in bad conditions
after having been abandoned for many years. This statue
was found in the attic of a 1601 convent. The operation
begun, first of all, with a moth-repellent treatment
using a substance injected in every single hole of the
statue. |
|
I was able to get rid of all the moths,
to consolidate the wooden structure and
deter the future formation of the
noxious insects. At the end of this
operation I counted more than 3400 holes.
|
Then I cleaned the statue in order to
remove all the dirt that had accumulated
over time. This dirt accumulated was
mostly due to the smoke of the church
candles. Once the cleaning done, I
filled all the holes caused by the moths
using a paste made of wax mixed with
fine sawdust, and then I puttied all the
different holes. At the end, after
having reintegrated the missing parts
with some retouched colours, I protected
the wooden statue with a glossy varnish. |
This is another restoration of a dry clay and a "papier-mâché"
statue. I started with the cleaning of the statue, then
I reproduced its missing parts and I put a ketonic
satined paint on the statue to protect it from the
external agents and to give it the look it had in the
past. |
This work is the remaking of an old wooden altar.
Through a long image searching we found the old altar.
So on the basis of old photos, after a long period of
design and construction of a plastic wood scale 1:5, we
have build the altar that once decorated a side chapel
of a 17th century church. The execution of this project,
has requested assistance for the construction, carving
and inlay, with a final result very similar to the old
one. |
|
This restoration regards a wooden statue
representing St. Rocco. The statue has been
restored in the past years but still presented
more than 700 holes due to damaging insects.

For this statue we have also realized a new base
with green painted marble where the lines are
made with golden foil. |
